Picking the Perfect Bridesmaid Dresses
by Andrea Pressing
http://www.daveswedding.com

We have all heard the horror stories about the bride that chose the orange mermaid shaped dress for her maid of honor, also known as her best friend. Yes brides, we know the day is all about you, but let’s keep in mind those that have no opinion in the matter.

There is more than just the actual design of the dress that needs to be considered. Things such as the cost of the dress that you choose, which will be passed on to the friend are often overlooked until it's too late. The styles today are definitely better than they were just 10 years ago. Styles have become very simple and elegant, which is a compliment to almost anyone. Remember too, to be flexible in the styles. We all will without a doubt make the exception for the pregnant bridesmaid, but when it comes the bridesmaid that is, let’s say, less than perfect size, we just tell them to squeeze in because everyone else is wearing it. Be considerate and let your creativity show in the styles of the dresses as well.

The prices of dresses can go anywhere from $30 to well over $1000. Keep in mind again, that these are your friends. Know their limits and don’t put them in an awkward position. They are very honored to have been asked to take part in this important day, and most likely very excited, don’t price them out of the wedding.

Color can be fun. All the bridesmaids can match, which is most common. Also know that for whatever reason, if you have to change styles to accommodate different friends, you can choose complimentary colors as well. This can add some interesting visual elements to an otherwise average looking ensemble.

When choosing a dress you also need to keep in mind the location of all your bridesmaids. If some are out of state, you will need to choose a location that may be a chain, in which to purchase your dresses. Another great option is to have the dresses made with the patterns and material sent to those out of town.

This is your wedding. Let your style show through in whatever you choose. But most of all enjoy!
